Website design update

When we say 'redesign', we're referring to creating a brand new look and feel of your website.

A redesign typically involves us creating a brand new homepage design along with a new header, new footer, font changes, and colour changes. Think of it as 'reskinning' your website. 

Dependant on your budget, we will usually work on all of your website content (like the About Us page etc) to make sure it's formatted to be stylish and consistent with your new homepage.

Website design trends are always changing, and what was popular several years ago can now look outdated.

The main reason most people redesign is to ensure their website is current, modern, and inviting. An older design signals to your prospective customers that your business is not modern, and they may go elsewhere based on the design alone. 

Most people that are serious about their website will redesign every 2-3 years. 

Some other reasons include: 

• The direction of your business has changed, and your website needs to follow suit 
• People aren't converting and becoming customers when they visit your website
• You have a new brand identity which needs to be rolled out to your website 
• Your target market has changed, and your current website is driven to the old target market 
• You've reviewed the website with your Account Manager and determined that it doesn't succinctly articulate what makes you different, and what you do 
• You are doing some other work on the website, and it makes sense to roll in a redesign at the same time.

A lot of the time, people assume that redesigning is as time intensive as creating the website the first time around.

You have two options when you embark on a redesign: 

Option 1:  Re-skin your existing website, and don't touch your existing sitemap or content. Perfect option for a website performing well, but in need of a refresh. 

Option 2: Take the opportunity to revisit your business needs, and question whether your website content is still relevant today. Is it really telling people about what you do, and what makes you different to everyone else out there? If it's not, this is a good time to remap your website and do some house cleaning. This is a strategic redesign which will also overhaul your website content.

Both options are not as time-intensive as the original build of the website. We already have the website to work with as our foundation- it's all about refining it at this point, and making sure it's still working for you. 

Your Account Manager will consult with you on your needs and make sure the right plan is established, in keeping with your budget and vision.

Revamping your website design typically costs half the price of rebuilding your website elsewhere. That's a win in our books!

We will need to catch up with you to chat about the strategy and design direction of your new look and feel. Aside from that, all we need is your feedback and your approval to set it live- we'll do the rest!

Here's the quick version:

Our design team will mock up your new homepage, and we'll collaborate with you to make sure it's exactly what you envisioned. Once you've signed off, we'll set it up on your website and update all the colours/fonts/etc to suit.

Here's the long version: 

1. First, we'll discuss what you want to achieve with your new website evolution. Looking beautiful is a given, but this is the perfect opportunity to chat about what could be changed to achieve better results. 

2. Once the project is fully scoped, we'll send you a quote to review. You're welcome to request changes. 

3. Upon payment of the quote, we'll book you in with your designer immediately. This will be a meeting to chat through your aesthetic preferences, and the layout of your new homepage. 

4. Within a week, you will receive a mock-up of your new homepage design. We'll schedule in a call to chat through your first impressions of the design. 

5. From here, we'll work with your preferences to make sure the design is 100% what you envisioned. You'll get two chances to request big changes to the design- then you'll sign off on it. 

6. From here, our team will start working on the new design in a secret area of your website. The old version of your website won't be affected. 

7. When the team are done, your Account Manager will review the work and make a list of any further items that need to be changed or updated. They'll most likely book in a call to chat through the changes, and make sure you're happy with the new site. 

8. Once you're happy, we press play and set it live!

Timeline is always dependent on the size of the project, and all of our projects are bespoke and tailored to the business they are for. 

However, standard redesign turnaround is usually 6-8 weeks. If you're on a tight timeline, we can look into pushing you to the top of the queue for a fee.
